UN Office on Sport for Development and Peace

The United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP), based in Geneva and supported by a Liaison Office in New York, assists the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace in his worldwide activities as an advocate, facilitator and representative of sports’ social purposes. The Office provides the entry point to the United Nations system with regard to Sport for Development and Peace, and works at bringing the worlds of sport and development together. The Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, Wilfried Lemke visited AMANDLA in 2009 and subsequently endorsed AMANDLA’s work with a Message of Support.

 

CTC Ten Foundation

The CTC Ten Foundation was created in 2007 to honour the memory of Chris Campbell with the goal of creating an artificial turf facility in Khayelitsha, SA.  With the help of Franklin and Marshall and various other donors, CTC Ten fundraised enough money to build the Chris Campbell Memorial Field, which AMANDLA initiated and manages.

streetfootballworld was created to connect and strengthen football-based community initiatives from around the globe.  With over 70 members worldwide, the network enables members to share best practice, create new partnerships and enrich their own programmes by building on the experiences of others.  By helping organisations support and learn from each other, streetfootballworld aims to effect social change on a global scale.

Trigon Consultancy

Trigon Consultancy assists AMANDLA EduFootball with the organisation’s development and its strategic concept.  Harald Jäckel, co-founder of Trigon Munich, supports AMANDLA’s Management Team by providing continuous coaching sessions.

Coaching for Hope

 

Coaching for Hope is an innovative programme which uses football to create better futures for young people in West and Southern Africa. Coaching for Hope taps into the universal passion for football and organises coaching courses where professional coaches from the UK train AMANDLA youth leaders to recognised FA standards. At the same time, the local coaches learn how to deliver HIV awareness sessions to young people in their communities.

 

The International Platform on Sport and Development

The International Platform on Sport and Development is a website entirely dedicated to the thematic field of Sport & Development. It was initiated after the first International Conference on Sport and Development was held in Magglingen, Switzerland in 2003. AMANDLA joined the platform in 2009 with the objective to share expertise and engage with other organisation in the sport for development sector and to market our work.
