Description: Sivuyile ‘Sugars’ Qinga, a former professional South African football player and former Head of the Sport and Recreation Department of the City of Cape Town, Section Khaya-Plains. He now works as an independent entrepreneur. His strong links to the local communities as well as important connections within the South African government structures are invaluable for the organisation.

Description: Pastor Jack Mahoney is working as the Public Relations Officer at the Ark Shelter; additionally he is a member of the Management Committee of the Western Cape Network for Community Peace & Development and is coordinating the Kicking for Peace Initiative.

Position: Managing Director AMANDLA EduFootball e.V.
Description: Florian Zech co-founded AMANDLA when he was 20 years old. Since then he is the driving force behind the development and implementation of the organisation and programmes. He acquired additional skills in General Management and Business Administration at the University of the Western Cape. He is seen as a perfect example for AMANDLA’s strong belief in youth leadership and entrepreneurship.

Description: Leonora Reid is the Co-Founder of the AMANDLA Ku Lutsha initiative (now AMANDLA EduFootball). She is a qualified teacher and advises AMANDLA, especially with regard to the educational programme components.

Description: Annika holds a Diploma in Sport Science and Media & Communication and carries the responsibility for all internal and external communications and operations tasks within AMANDLA EduFootball.

Position: Programme Manager
Description: Allan da Silva has worked in child and youth care sector in the Western Cape, South Africa facilitator, staff trainer and manager for the last 25 years. He extensively acquired both academic and practical skills and knowledge in community management and development that makes him the ideal Senior Programme Manager for AMANDLA.

Position: Programme Coordinator
Description: Noluvuyo, which means ‘Happiness’ in the local language Xhosa, totally lives up to the meaning of her name, always having an open ear and friendly smile whenever needed. As the heart and soul of the Chris Campbell Memorial Field, it does not come by surprise that it was her who led the winning team of the PASCH tournament to their victory.Memorial Field.

Description: Lauren graduated from the University of Colorado in 2011 with a degree in International Affairs focused in sub-Saharan Africa. She first became connected with AMANDLA while during research for her thesis on how football can be a tool for community development in various African countries.

AMANDLA's target demographic is youth staying in residential childcare facilities in South Africa. Exact figures on how many youth are currently placed in residential facilities is not available. However, according to the Children Count ZA institute 18.6% of all children in South Africa are orphaned which does not include children in need of care due to alternative circumstances.
